Raul Germano Brandão (1867–1930) was a Portuguese writer, journalist and military officer, notable for the realism of his literary descriptions and by the lyricism of his language.

To commemorate the fact that 2017 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Raul Brandao Portugal has issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the face of the coin is an image of Raul Brandão. On the left side of the coin his name Raul Brandão, as well as the years 1867 and 2017, are shown. On the right side is the country name Portugal.
