2 euro commemorative coins
Kiekviena šalis gali išleisti po dvi progines monetas per metus. Šių monetų charakteristikos ir viena – bendroji – pusė yra tokios pat kaip ir įprastų 2 € monetų. Jos skiriasi tik nacionalinės pusės dizainu, skirtu kokiai nors progai paminėti. Kaip proginės gali būti išleidžiamos tik 2 € nominalo monetos.
Proginės monetos yra teisėta atsiskaitymo priemonė visoje euro zonoje. Tai reiškia, kad jomis galima atsiskaityti ir jas privaloma priimti kaip ir visas kitas eurų monetas.
