Croatia 2024 Marco Marulic
The national side of the commemorative coin features the main motif
of the portrait of Marko Marulić. In addition to the main motif, the
coin also features the inscriptions: the symbol for the Republic of
Croatia “HR”, the year of issuance “2024.” and the name and surname of
Marko Marulić “MARKO MARULIĆ”, which are inscribed along the coin’s
core.
The coin’s national side outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
The
edge lettering of the coin features the text “O LIJEPA O DRAGA O SLATKA
SLOBODO” (Oh beautiful, oh dear, oh sweet freedom) from the Hymn to
Freedom, which is an integral part of the pastoral play “Dubravka” by
the 17th century Croatian writer Ivan Gundulić.
