This coin is dedicated to medical workers, as a thank you for their achievements in the fight against the pandemic. The year 2020 will remain the year of the global health crisis associated with Covid-19. With events that changed the lives of each of us, but despite all the difficulties that have befallen us, this year will remain in national unity. For each €2 medical research coin acquired, Monnaie de Paris undertakes to donate €2 to the Fondation de France.

The design depicts a face looking at DNA fragments. Carved in an arc on the left, "UNION" symbolizes the unity of humanity and the joint efforts to combat a wide range of diseases. The year of issuance '2020' is also minted at the left bottom of the coin and the author's initials and mint symbols at the bottom.
