Dzukija
Dzukija (Dainava) is
an ethnographic region of Lithuania in Southern Aukstaitija. Most of Dzukija is
occupied by forests – therefore, in the least populated parts of the region,
the population density is less than 10 persons per km². In addition to the huge
forests, the region also has the largest swamp in the territory of the Republic
of Lithuania – the Cepkeliai marsh. The largest rivers of Dzukija are the
Nemunas, Neris, Merkys, Ula. The capital of Dzukija - Alytus - is a city
drowning in greenery, cozy for the family, rich in nature of extraordinary
beauty, hospitable and sincere people.
On the national side
of the coin, the shield of the coat of arms is depicted in the central part,
and in it is an armored warrior holding an alabbard in his right hand, leaning
against a silver-white shield with his left. The shield of the coat of arms
laid on the balk is held by two lynxes. At the bottom is a ribbon with the
Latin inscription "EX GENTE BELICOSISSIMA POPULUS LABORIOSUS". From the

of the manufacturer, Lithuanian Mint, 12 EU stars are arranged in a circle. The
