Malta 2021 5 euro Knights of the past

Obverse: The obverse depicts two armored knights and a pair of horses, as they advance into battle. Nestled within the wooded landscape in the background is Malta's Verdala Palace, which was built in the 16th century during the reign of the Order's Grand Master Jean Parisot de la Valette. Inscribed "KNIGHTS OF THE PAST" and "5 EURO."

Reverse: The figure of an armored knight is illustrated on the reverse, partially eclipsed by a circular shield in his grasp. A border of rivets frames the shield's imagery, which includes the coat of arms of the Central Bank of Malta layered over a Maltese Cross, the emblem of the Order. Inscriptions include "MALTA," "2021" and "1 OZ AG 999.9."
