The twelve stars of the European Union are
arranged in an outer circle around a drawing of an ancient sculpture depicting
a discus thrower preparing to throw a discus. The base of the sculpture covers
part of the outer ring (outer part) of the coin. On the left side are the logo
of the Olympic Games "ATHENS 2004" and five Olympic rings. On the
right is the number "2", and under it the word "ΕΥΡΩ". At
the bottom of the coin, a star is depicted in the middle, the first two figures
for the year are indicated on one side of the star, the other two on the other
side: "20*04". To the left of the athlete's head is depicted a mint
mark.
